FAQ

How do I find out what's best for me?

You have to listen to what your body says. When it comes to your body's needs for exercise, food, or rest, it is the best. It is important to listen to your body to ensure you are not doing too much. Take care of your body and make sure that you're staying healthy.

How do you get enough vitamins?

Most of your daily vitamin requirements can be met by diet alone. Supplements may be necessary if you are not getting enough of a particular vitamin. A multivitamin can contain all the vitamins that you need. You can also get individual vitamins from your local pharmacy.

If you are concerned about getting enough nutrients, talk to your doctor about what foods contain the best sources of vitamins. Some examples of rich sources of vitamins E and K include dark green leafy vegetables, such as spinach.

If you are not sure how much vitamin you should be consuming, ask your doctor. Based on your medical history and your current health, your doctor can recommend the correct dosage.

How often should i exercise?

Fitness is key to a healthy lifestyle. However, there isn't a set amount of time you must spend working out. Finding something you enjoy is key. Stick with it.

Three times a week, you should be aiming to complete 20-30 mins of moderate intensity activity. Moderate intensity means you'll still be breathing hard after you've finished. This type workout burns about 300 calories.

If you prefer to walk, go for 10 minute walks four days a week. Walking is easy on the joints and has low impact.

Jogging for 15 minutes three days a week is a good option if you prefer to run. Running is a great way of burning calories and building muscle tone.

If you're not used to exercising, start slowly. Start with just 5 minutes of cardio a few times a week. Gradually increase duration until you achieve your goal.

What does the "vitamins” word mean?

Vitamins are organic substances found naturally in food. Vitamins allow us to absorb nutrients from food. Vitamins cannot come from the body so food must provide them.

Two types of vitamins exist: water-soluble vitamin and fat-soluble vitamin. Water-soluble vitamins dissolve easily when they are dissolved in water. Examples include vitamin C,B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B6 (pyridoxine), folic acid, biotin, pantothenic acid, and choline. Fat-soluble vitamins are stored in the liver, fatty tissue and kidneys. These include vitamin D, E and K, as well as beta carotene.

Vitamins can be classified by their biological activity. There are eight major groups of vitamins:

  • A - Essential for healthy growth and health maintenance.
  • C - vital for proper nerve function, and energy production.
  • D – Essential for healthy teeth, bones and joints
  • E is needed for good reproduction and vision.
  • K - essential for healthy muscles, nerves, and bones.
  • P - vital for building strong bones andteeth.
  • Q – aids digestion of iron and iron absorption
  • R – Required for the formation of red blood vessels.

The recommended daily allowance (RDA), for vitamins, varies depending upon age, gender, or physical condition. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) sets the RDA values.

For adults 19 years and over, the RDA of vitamin A is 400mg per day. Pregnant mothers need 600 micrograms per days because it is vital for the development and growth of their baby. Children ages 1-8 require 900 micrograms per day. Babies under one-year old require 700 mg per day. Between 9 and 12 years of age, however, this drops to 500 mg per day.

Children between the ages 1--18 years old who are overweight or obese require 800 micrograms per Day, while those who are overweight or obese need 1000 micrograms. To meet their nutritional needs, children underweight and obese require 1200 micrograms a day.

Children 4-8 years old who have anemia must consume 2200 micrograms of Vitamin C daily.

2000 micrograms per person is necessary for general health. Due to their increased nutrient needs, pregnant and breastfeeding women need 3000 micrograms daily.

1500 micrograms is the recommended daily intake for adults aged 70+, who lose approximately 10% of muscle each year.

Women who are pregnant or nursing need more than the RDA. Pregnant and breastfeeding women require 4000 micrograms each day during pregnancy and 2500 Micrograms each day after delivery. Breastfeeding moms need 5000 micrograms each day when breastmilk production occurs.
